The Palm Beach International Film Festival is a non-profit 501(c)(3) This is a non-paying, Volunteer position. This is an excellent opportunity to build and grow and impressive portfolio of work in the role of photographer. This is a volunteer position that could in the future evolve into something else. If you are looking to grow your experiences, build your resume and work with a great and fun organization and people, consider joining us. PBIFF photographers specialize in taking photos for the Palm Beach International Film Festival screenings, VIP red carpet events, celebrities, important or specific gatherings, shows, events, workshops and other related PBIFF events. They assist with the event setup to allow for best lighting, access, mobility and more to ensure that things will run smoothly before, during, and after the event. They must have good communication skills to properly assess and meet and exceed expectations for each assignment and capture the best moments for a once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

Job Description

  • Working closely with event producers to create a timeline for the event and determine the best locations for photographing certain aspects of the event
  • Coordinating with other event staff, such as event managers and coordinators, to ensure that all aspects of the event are managed smoothly
  • Shooting photos of guests arriving at the event, which can include capturing images guests walking down the red carpet or a speaker addressing an audience
  • Communicating with clients throughout the event to ensure that they are satisfied with the quality of their photos or videos
  • Shooting pictures of speakers, performers, or other attendees who will be featured in a printed program or other printed materials for the event
  • Capturing candid photos of attendees interacting with one another at PBIFF events
  • Shooting images of event decorations such as tablescapes, floral arrangements, and lighting effects
  • Using specialized equipment such as a camera with high resolution capabilities or a tripod to ensure crisp images with good focus
  • Editing photos using computer software to adjust lighting, color, and contrast
  • Manage HDR and PANO shots for PBIFF.
  • Work with Marketing and Social Media departments for posting event photos to the PBIFF website and social media.
  • Use traditional and digital cameras, along with a variety of equipment such as tripods, filters, and flash attachments.
  • Orchestrate regular internet uploads of photos from events.
  • Edit, process and retouch images.
  • Add to the collection of promotional photos that PBIFF uses for print, digital and web communication.
  • Maintain clear communication with PBIFF and departments before, during, and after the shoot to ensure their needs are meet.
  • Plan ahead with the organizers in order to cover the whole event.
  • Utilize Photoshop for editing, image manipulation, and image restoration.
  • Capture formal portraits using digital photography equipment and studio lighting.
  • Provide event photography for specific events for use in advertising and online distribution
  • Use professional studio/photography equipment and DSLR camera to capture professional, high-quality images.

Photographer will retain ownership of all of their images and will grant PBIFF license for use of their images. Photographer will be credited for images in all PBIFF website, social media and publications as well as any use of images by press or outside agencies.
