Volunteer Videographer
The Palm Beach International Film Festival is a non-profit 501(c)(3) This is a non-paying, Volunteer position. This is an excellent opportunity to build and grow and impressive portfolio of work in the role of videographer, producer, director, and/or editor. This is a volunteer position that could in the future evolve into something else. If you are looking to grow your experiences, build your resume and work with a great and fun organization and people, consider joining us. We are looking for an organized and creative volunteer videographer to work with our creative team to plan, film, and edit video content according to PBIFF needs. The videographer’s responsibilities include ensuring that the necessary filming equipment is available for use, directing other camera operators on set, and editing film footage.
To be successful as a videographer you must be able to understand client briefs and work creatively to produce the desired product. A good videographer stays up to date with industry trends and tools that will make projects more marketable.
Videographer Responsibilities:
- Film videos at parties, events, on set or on location.
- Ensure that equipment for a shoot is present and working.
- Plan the shoot with the creative team and the client.
- Edit footage in post-production.
- Direct other camera operators so that the needed footage is acquired.
- Be a one-man (or woman) band in the field — you’ll handle audio, video, and lighting
- Organizing shot footage for post-production for archives
- Drive video projects through from pre-production to the post-production process to achieve interesting video content whilst maintaining brand integrity
- Coordinate with Marketing and stakeholders to conceptualise video ideas all the way to the shoot and post-production
- Take ownership for pre-production, shooting, editing and assisting in production and post-production, editing from scratch, relying on creative instincts and industry best-practices
- Selection and implementing special visual effects, music, and special audio for each video shoot
- Converting videos shot in-house videos that were outsourced to the proper format for different marketing channels
- Partner with corporate communications and leadership to elevate internal communications through video
- Creates quality multimedia storytelling using photography, videography and text that accurately informs, entertains and engages our audience
- Works with editors to evaluate what’s working and what’s not, and develops ongoing plans to better satisfy audience needs
Videographer Requirements:
- Excellent computer literacy.
- Proficiency with editing software such as BlackMagic.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Relative fitness and stamina to work long hours.
- Proficiency with camera equipment.
- True passion for film, festivals, art, fashion, current trends, models and photography, and eager to bring inspiration to the team
- Understanding of the “on-set” experience and working with a team to create the best video/product
- Ability to work quickly and stay calm under pressure
Strong initiative and motivation to constantly experiment and improve upon each project
Self-motivator who can generate ideas for projects independently and collaboratively, and communicate those ideas effectively to the team while working under tight deadlines
