Commitment to Education
The Palm Beach International Film Festival is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. The Palm Beach International Film Festival has dedicated itself to making a difference in the lives of young people of all ages by helping to fulfill their pursuits in the world of film. Over $1.5 million has been donated over the years to provide new technologies for optimal learning in the form of grants and scholarships.
Past activities have included seminars, workshops, and “hands-on” experience with filmmakers and professionals from all areas of the industry. The climax of student activities is the Student Showcase of Films, held during the annual film festival. Student filmmakers from high school, community college, and university levels enter their work in competition for scholarship money and the chance to have their film shown on the “big screen” during the festival.
One of our new initiatives at PBIFF is to attract more educational talent to the Palm Beaches to provide additional, relevant, regular long term educational programs as well as seminars, workshops, forums and more in the Palm Beaches area. PBIFF will be doing this through the all new Palm Beach International Film Institute. PBIFI will host, develop and provide educational programs open to members of the the community and other programs developed for local institutions. PBIFI will also provide educational programs including speaker forums, development workshops and working labs including “co-labs” where film makers work with screenwriters and production professionals to find, build and produce their next project.
The Palm Beach International Film Festival works with Palm Beaches area educational institutions to provide a platform to them for additional fundraising, educational opportunities and more.
PBIFF also encourages participation from local students and educators in volunteer and internship roles with the daily operations, committee positions and festival week.
PBIFF also encourages participation for students and educators from institutions outside the Palm Beaches area in volunteer and internship roles with the daily operations, committee positions and festival week.
